ABOUT

Born in Iowa and raised in the South Carolina low-country, Caden Hostetler has had an ever-increasing interest in wildlife and landscapes since he was very young.

During high school he started painting and by the time he graduated in 2020, he’d already gained attention for his eye-catching artistry. He’s known for pushing watercolor beyond its traditional softness, Caden uses self-taught techniques to capture the character and movement of birds and other species. Over time, he’s found a natural overlap between his art and his real estate career on Kiawah Island—often painting the views and wildlife surrounding his clients’ homes.

His pieces have been featured in SEWE’s Birds of Prey exhibition (2024–2025), the Kiawah Conservancy Gala (2023–2025), and the CATR Derby fundraiser (2024) and other private events.

Caden lives on Johns Island with his wife, Grace, and their son, Winters, spending much of his time exploring the Lowcountry’s landscape and wildlife. While he primarily works in series, he occasionally accepts private commissions.
